I can't shoot with my touchpad because I'm having problems stroking the cue while holding the S key down. How can I correct this?
Many times touchpad software has problems with the type of fine control VP4 requires. You can either use a mouse or you can try changing the touch pad settings. Many touch pad drivers have a control panel to change settings. Sometimes just doing something like turning on "slow movement" in accessiblity settings will correct this issue. Play with the configuration changing one setting at a time and see if the touchpad will function properly with VP4.

What version of DirectX do I need to run Virtual Pool 4?
VP4 requires DirectX 9c or later. Vista and later Windows operation systems have this installed already. If you have XP you can download the latest DirectX installer from Microsoft..
I'm having severe problems with the mouse stroke speed and adjusting the Mouse sensitivity is not helping?
If you have a Logitech mouse then you need to use the Windows driver option because the Logitech driver have problems. Start Setpoint, go to the Pointer settings. For newer Setpoint software there will be a "Use OS native drivers for pointer speed and acceleration checkbox", check that. Older versions of Setpoint may have different wording on that option.
My frame rate is slow with 3D hardware acceleration. How can I speed it up?
Some video graphics cards don't have enough power to run VP4 with all the graphics turned up.
The simple way to get settings that should work well is click Main Menu/Settings/Graphics and then press the Auto Set for Computer button. This will setup the graphics based on a performance test. You can always tweak the settings manually on this page to adjust quality vs speed.
What should I do if Virtual Pool 4 crashes or has drawing problems?
Install the latest drivers for your video card. You can usually get these from the card manufacturers web site or from the video chip manufacturers web site. It is usually best to use the version from the card manufacturer.

Make sure that your video card is DirectX 9c compatible and that you have DirectX 9c or later installed.
I can't aim or stroke the cue and the cursor is showing but there is not in game menu. What's wrong?
Press the Alt key to take down or bring up the cursor. This feature allows you to do things like select play controls on the video playback, or interact with on screen menus like quick reference.
I get stuck on call shot or illegal break screens. What's wrong?
It is likely that the auto-hide feature of your Windows taskbar is causing issues. You need to turn off auto-hide for you task bar. Right click on your task bar where no minimized tasks are or on the clock readout. Select Properties then uncheck "Auto-hide the taskbar".
How do I backup or transfer my VP4 data files to another computer?
Save these folders:
  • C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Celeris\Virtual Pool 4
  • C:\Users\sdc\\My Documents\Celeris\Virtual Pool 4
  • C:\ProgramData\Celeris\Virtual Pool 4
or if you are on XP:
  • C:\Documents and Settings\\Local Setting\Celeris\Virtual Pool 4\vpfiles
  • C:\Documents and Settings\\My Documents\Celeris\Virtual Pool 4
  • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Celeris\Virtual Pool 4
